As sustainable use of resources edges higher in the agenda of most regions, hydro electric power is a good business to be in. French multinational Alstom had the technology and global reach to be a significant long term player in this sector, but rapid realignment of its asset base had created internal uncertainty and doubts about the future. While some of this could only be addressed at local level, senior management recognized the parallel importance of strong leadership communications. In 2005, we helped the business unit to develop, articulate and present a positive, top-down message of reassurance to employees around the world.
